What Justin Timberlake Taught Me About Business

I'm so embarrassed to say this, but I used to brag about how my corporate job was 'so easy, I could do it in my sleep.'  Granted, there was something nagging at me, that it wasn't right, and I knew I should be doing other things.  However, I was pushing myself outside of the 40 hours I spent in corporate, and learning all about building businesses, etc.  However, I spent 40 hours of every week in just mind numbing work.  Why?  Well, it paid the bills, and it was easy.

I was watching Oprah's Master Class (Spend 10 minutes with me, and you'll soon figure out I'm an Oprah fanatic, as I refer to her shows often.  Oh, and I'm meeting her in September, but that's a whole other story for another time.)

But anyway.... I was watching her Master Class with Justin Timberlake, and he said something that completely hit home.  He never wants to do the same thing twice.  If he's done it, it's time to move on, and there's nothing more exciting for him to see something and think he has no idea how to do it, but he's going to figure it out.  Love him or hate him, the man is ridiculously successful, and I think there's always something to learn from people like him.

I think in life you have two options, you can say I don't know how to do it, and just sit back, never figure it out and go back to the same thing you know how to do and do over and over and over.  Or you can say, you know what I don't know how to do that, but I'm going to figure it out.

I've been paralyzed in fear often.  It's easier to say I have an idea, but oh, wow, that's a lot to figure out, so let me just go back to doing what I know.  However, do you regret never figuring it out?  Do you see someone else who is pushing forward, and you just get the tiny bit of tinge of jealousy?  I can honestly say I've never regretted trying (and when I push, it always seems to come together).  However, I've always regretted setting it off to the side.

These past few weeks, as I get The Ultimate Starters Course up and running has been crazy, like Justin Timberlake ridiculously crazy, but it's also been pretty rewarding.  I have figured out a lot, and I mean A LOT, but all it took was one step of the 'I would like' to the 'I will do'.

So what's one thing you can do today to go from a 'I don't know' to a 'I figured it out?'  I'm not saying you must have it all figured out, but I just want you to get one step closer.
